Birthing Kits Galore!

Tom tells us, with 18 suitcases full of medical supplies!  We set out goal high but took the challenge and have 50 complete birthing kits to deliver to Mozambique and 25 medical kits.  Thanks for the interest, advice, and gifts made to this effort through so many "Angels in the wings". It would not have been possible without God working through all of you, and we are so grateful. A last minute unexpected gift of over 200 tubes of expensive newborn eye ointment was given to us by a delivery nurse at Centennial.  When asked how she got them, she told me,"I prayed about it."  Our prayers are of gratitude and thanksgiving to everyone who has been touched and called to help us.

Medical Supplies Being Packed for Mozambique

Many of you know that Sebber is a nurse and midwife sponsored by the Outreach Foundation. She trains midwives throughout the Tete province in Mozambique. She asked our Westminster group to bring birthing kits and medical supplies with us. Many from our church and the community helped make the purchase of these supplies possible. Below are some of the medical supplies found on the Hunt's kitchen table this week!

Tom is quite pleased with a donation from a wonderful nurse who gave Lane and Ann lots of birthing kit supplies!

But Betsy is a big apprehensive as to how we are going to get all this organized and transported to Mozambique....never fear we are making progress.

Introductions

 Members of our congregation  join others from the Outreach Foundation as we serve in the Tete province of Mozambique. We have been planning the trip for over eight months and are now busy with last minute preparations!

Joining our "Westminster Group" are Jennifer Fouse, Presbyterian Campus Minister to Vanderbilt and Belmont, and Sarah Vianey, niece of Ann Neely.

Our plan is to keep family, friends, and members of Westminster "posted" on our activities whenever we have access. We will begin our travels with Nedson and Sebber to visit new churches in Mozambique. After that, will head to Cape Town for a quick tour of the area, focusing on Apartheid in South Africa while also enjoying the great beauty of the area.

We ask for your prayers during our travels and your patience for hearing our stories when we return!  Ann Neely
